Dance Conference at Chilton St James in Lower Hut

In the first week of the holidays I attended a dance conference for primary and secondary teachers from all over New Zealand. There was a strong focus on culturally inclusive dancing, creative dance and fusion dance, which is a blend of cultural and modern creative. I attended various workshops including large group Maori dance, Samoan sasa and Site specific dance, which is all about dancing outside. It was a challenging but worthwhile experience, and I have come back full of enthusiasm and with some new ideas that I hope to put into practice before the end of the year.
